    Thank you so much for this video! I have been playing around for two days with TT4 after some experience with classical themes from years ago and already had a lot of Ahaaaa moments, understanding things slowly and the hard way. Your explanations really helped me to get a grip on the logical structure of this theme and of block themes in general. Thanks again and keep it up!

    Amazing Stream. As someone who likes to start my first web creation business I now learned: Get clear on you ideal clients, I know the pros and cons of the Low, Mid and High 'tier' kind of clients and ask yourself and the clients questions to understand if the client is something you'd like to do. As someone who has worked at different Scale-Up companies, I like the low businesses growing to mid from 10 employees in some kind of basement to a 80 person company in an office. Most of the time they are not clear yet on a lot of stuff for instance branding, goals, what they actually need. There is also a lot of growing pains because, suddenly your are a bigger company. They also need to learn, that with a bigger company comes bigger price tags. Which most of the time they are not used to. Automations, systems and structures are not in place yet. etc. Thanks for this podcast again and giving insights!

    it's working fine for me. the only caveat is if you need plugins to add functionality such as a pickup/delivery date picker, you probably won't find any that work with block based themes. I haven't found a single plugin yet to add fields to the checkout page that actually works with a block based Woo theme

    I’m old and have bad eyesight. Seeing what you were doing was difficult in many instances. We need bigger curser and slower to show what you’re teaching. I see this is the direction we’re going. I will learn the basics and then hire a graphic artist/Techy to stay busy with the looks side. I’ll have my hands full working through advertising writing, reworking and writing articles. I think it will all work out. For a non-technician like myself it’s going to require that I find a technician to help me. That’s good for the industry that has developed. Not so good for those of us who don’t have big money to invest. That’s modern life. Thanks for the help. SN

    1. Event widget on Dashboard is the best thing ever happened to WP Events 2. Site-Health is very helpful for plugin support to get the details to help customers 3. Privacy tools are stuck - The goal was aspirational but lost steam 4. Agree 5. Agree 6. I just say SEO ... 7. Good that the settings are there - this way we can change/overwrite the bad decision by the overlords to make the editor fullpage 9. Page-Parents are important SEO/Structure

    I never use any of these and didn't know the preferences option even existed!

  • @PeterIngersoll

    Site Health Site health is an important tool that you might not ever need, but is very handy when you do. First, for the majority of DIY users (which I argue is the largest number of WP users) it's great to get a snapshot of the site with some advice on what to pay attention to. And when there is an issue, being able to export all the details to share with a hosting, theme, or plugin service person is very handy. Outline View The hierarchy of heading tags is extremely important for accessibility purposes. We should definitely pay attention to it. That said, the outline view is currently not effective because it only sees core heading blocks. Once it recognizes headings from non-core blocks, it could be an important tool for accessibility and accessibility training. Editor Preferences I agree that they would best positioned in Settings / Editor. Preferences are lost where they are. Navigation Block My wish is to keep the process of building menus as it is in classic themes. I like your word "decoupling." There is a definite advantage to that. I would also like to see navigation styles available through the theme (and/or code or plugin). Then the navigation block would be simplified to selecting which menu and what styles to apply to it.

    I use the distraction-free mode (to quickly hide all the sidebars) and and the Site Health screen but everything else I agree with. They could throw a bunch of this in little plugins so if people complain they can install them separately.

  • @DenisonCarlosMS
    @DenisonCarlosMS Місяць тому

    I always use Page Attributes, because I think it's essential to keep them in order within the site. Not only so that I can easily find them when I need to edit any of them, but also so that the Client can find them easily, when he has access to the Site Administration. Logically, he expects to find them in the same order as the site's Navigation Menu. So this makes my life and his easier. I agree that the Privacy Page as a kind of model is valid. But not everyone uses it and not all sites need it. If I am creating a Landing Page, I will certainly delete the template. Regarding Preferences, which are the resources that customize the Site Editor, I completely agree that they should be more accessible. For experienced users they may be intuitive. But for new users, they end up being hidden and often unused.
